By Road

From the South
Take the M1, changing to M621 at Junction 43. Following the M621, leave at Junction 2. Turn right under the M621 onto the A643, and follow the York signs.

(a) At the Armley gyratory continue to follow the York signs onto the inner ring road A58(M), continue for 1 mile, driving under a tunnel.
After going through the tunnel turn left onto the A660.
(b) Follow the Skipton signs.
Passing Leeds University, Woodhouse Moor, and Leeds Girls High School. When approaching the crown of the hill, turn right into Hinsley Hall, (which has a large blue sign), and go straight up the driveway to the building ahead.

If you continue past the ALBA Tyre Centre and reach two pubs opposite each other, The Skyrack and The Original Oak, you have gone too far; turn round and Hinsley Hall is now on your left, just past the bus stop.

From the West
Leave the M62 at Junction 27, and follow the M621 to Junction 2, following the York signs and then follow indented directions (a) & (b).

From the East
Leave the M62 at the M1 junction and drive North towards Leeds, and follow the instructions from the M1 (from the South) above.

From York and the North East
Follow the A64 and continue onto the A64(M) inner ring road. Turn off at the A660, and follow the directions indicated (b) signs to Skipton.

From Skipton
Follow the A660, passing the Arndale Shopping Centre through the traffic lights. Passing The Skyrack and Original Oak pubs, continue on past the United Reformed Church on your left. Follow the high stone wall on your left, passing the ALBA Tyre Centre, and Hinsley Hall is the next opening on the left just past a bus stop.


Public Transport


There is a taxi rank immediately outside Leeds railway station. The journey is approximately 2 miles and will take around ten minutes, depending on traffic.

You need to board a bus going in the direction of HEADINGLEY. From the Railway Station turn left, cross City Square and left onto Infirmary Street where you can catch bus service no 1 from Stand B. For a city bus map, see here.
Ask the driver for the Hinsley Hall bus stop, just after the ALBA Tyre Centre on Headingley Lane. When you get off the bus, cross the road using the central reservation, and the entrance to Hinsley Hall is on your right.


Hinsley Hall is approximately 6 miles from Leeds/Bradford Airport (average taxi fare approx £20-25). You need to book your taxi at an ARROW office on the concourse outside the airport terminal near the arrivals area and bus stops. It is possible to book online: or telephone 0113 258 5888.
